In Search of Paradise – William Blake at Old Wyldes, Hampstead

£13.00

Artist Louisa Albani continues her exploration of William Blake’s life (begun with William Blake’s Mystic Map of London).

Blake became firm friends with artist John Linnell, at what was then Collin’s Farm. Linnell commissioned Blake to illustrate Dante’s Divine Comedy - a project left unfinished when Blake died in 1827. But his illustrations, incomplete as they were, became central to a new understanding of Dante’s poem, and an influential touchstone for artists following in his footsteps.

Albani’s publication - with written contribution by David Mullin - is a moving examination and celebration of Blake’s life and work.

We have secured signed copies of Albani’s book, at no extra cost.
