We’re gathering for a relaxed chat at 3pm on Thursday 16 December - the 250th anniversary of Jane’s birth.

What books do you love? What adaptations are on your highly-recommended list, and which ones do you loathe? What is it about Emma that you respond to – or are you in camp Sense & Sensibility?

You can expect a genial, relaxed afternoon for readers of all stripes - and even for those who prefer the films. You’ll help shape the afternoon with your observations and ideas, your thoughts about her place in the literary firmament and your favourite passages. And obviously we’ll all hope for some good gossip . . .

We’ll gather in the lovely dining room of The Star Inn for scones and tea and a special Regency-style treat. The £20 ticket also includes a special limited edition memento.
