19 October - Jacqueline Wilson Book Event
19 October - Jacqueline Wilson Book Event
Come along to meet Jacqueline Wilson and hear her thoughts on her new novel for grown-ups, Picture Imperfect, at a special afternoon event on Sunday 19 October.
Picture Imperfect raced into the bestseller lists, and we’re honoured to have Jacky joining us to discuss her second adult novel.
The story returns to the world of her best selling children’s tale, The Illustrated Mum. It isn’t an easy time for Dolphin Westward. She is living in a bedsit, working in a tattoo parlour, and regularly has to collect her mother from police stations. The men in her life might offer easy kicks - or maybe a family and stability; her sister, a doctor, thinks she should leave London for Scotland.
You needn’t remember reading The Illustrated Mum to savour Jacky’s latest; Picture Imperfect offers charm and humour, as well beautifully-realised characters leading lives with few clear choices and lots of challenges.
So there is lots to talk about with Jacky, from what tempted her to revisit her characters to how she fashioned a world that is compelling.
Jacky will be speaking at 3pm on Sunday 19 October, in the first-floor event room of The Star Inn, Alfriston.
Tickets cost £6. Copies of Picture Imperfect will be available at a discounted price of £17.60 (ticket holders may purchase books in advance of the event, at the special price).
You may opt to collect tickets from Much Ado, or have them posted.
