5 December: Ian Dowding and the Story of Banoffi Pie
Banoffi Pie became world famous thanks to chef Ian Dowding, who developed the treat while cooking for a restaurant in Jevington. Now, Ian has published a book describing the invention and how it came to rule the world of desserts, The Life and Times of Banoffi Pie.
Come along to meet Ian, enjoy a delicious nibble and learn about the extraordinary episode in culinary history during an evening shopping event on Saturday 5 December.
The drop-in event is free to all; we’ll be open for browsing as well as meeting Ian and savouring one of his delightful creations.
Of course, you will be able to purchase copies of The Life and Times of Banoffi Pie, as well as other cooker books by the renowned chef.
The shop will be open until 6pm, when Alex Polizzi will light up The Star Inn’s festive Christmas Tree. A village choir will provide carols, and you can expect mince pies and mulled wine aplenty!
