Great Soup - and a Great Cause!
Inspired by the fund-raising cookbook Soup for Syria, we're holding a soup lunch to support the Refugee Community Kitchen.
Stop by Sunday 13 March, from 11am until 3pm, to savour some gorgeous soup – choose between Thai Coconut with Mushrooms, or Indian Lentil Soup. We'll also offer tasty bread from Judges Bakery in Hastings, and you can round off your meal with some cake made by Cate Olson. It all adds up to a memorably delicious meal!
Set up by a group of chefs, journalists and other volunteers, the Refugee Community Kitchen serves more than 2,000 meals a day to people in a refugee camp in Calais. Rima Sams and Mars Sams, who have each put in time cooking at the kitchen, will be on hand during our lunch to chat about their experiences and the conditions in the camp.
We're suggesting a £10 donation for the lunch; and every penny will go directly to the Refugee Community Kitchen.
We'll have copies of Soup for Syria available to purchase, as well. And if you buy your copy on the day you'll find included Cate's Bannana Bread recipe as a special thank you!
No reservations are needed; just drop in (and bring a friend!) to enjoy a great meal and support a great cause.
Want to book in advance? We've made arrangements with a website called Eventbrite to organize the guestlist; just click here.
